Songkran is Thai New Year's and time for celebrating!!!
Water fights are happening across all of Thailand and I/we were super excited about participating!
John had to work from home on Friday because most of Chevron was off. This is a time when Thais go to visit their families and a lot of Expats tend to leave for vacation. We decided to stay in town and join the fun!!
I headed out to find us water guns Friday afternoon and got drenched in the process! These "gentlemen" poured freezing water down the back of my shirt and threw buckets of water on me. I was really really pumped though so I couldn't stop laughing!!!!
Here we are around 6 heading to Nana area to have fun! I am pumped, John is a little apprehensive!
We were planning on heading to Nana street but this corner outdoor boor looked like too much fun! we became friends with a group from Aberdeen Scotland and had so much fun!!
Filling the water guns with ICE WATER!!!!
This guy was from America and was funny...
This is a shot of the ambush squad... a group of people that were next door to us and would all fire at anyone that walked down the soi (road)!! I joined them of course!
This is one of the Scottish guys!
Scottish guy and me and I am TOTALLY PUMPED and HAVING A BLAST!!!
Our bartenders would fill up our guns... The Thais wear Hawaiian shirts!!
Me and the somewhat rowdy ambush crew...
They also throw white powder or clay on you (see it on the girl's face)...
The Scottish crew and us!! The water effected a lot of the pics :(...
I have never said I had a blast so much in my life but I will say it again and again!! This was the most FUN!!!!!!!!!!
Well we all learned something here! Thai New Year is totally different from ours. You and John look like you were enjoying it so much. Looks like good "clean" fun...pardon the pun. BT
