The "Killing fields"
Remains of Khmer (Cambodians) that have been found buried in Siam Reap.
The Khmer Rouge (communist party) forced 2 million people from the cities to the country to work in agricluture. They wanted to eliminate anyone involved in "free-market activites."
They were removed from power in 1979. They killed an estimated 1.5 million people.
The area in red was controlled by the Khmer Rouge and the leader Pol Pot is on the right.
Pictures of the victims.
The Temple has paintings on the walls depicting Buddhas life.
Buddha was born into a Hindu family
At the age of 29 he left his palace and left to lead the life of an ascetic.
The little baby with glowing around his head is Buddha.
